AN OPEN LETTER TO DONALD TRUMP,
Presidential  Candidate

Mr. Trump,

I am about to offer you some very good advice.

Learn to separate your POLICIES from your OPINION.

Talk as much as you want
as vociferously and as aggressively as you wish
about your policies. Confine your publicly expressed opinion of other people
to criticism of
their policies.

In brief, keep your OPINIONS
especially about other peopleto yourself.

Honestly, the less potential voters are repulsed by the peculiar things that
come spilling (apparently) thoughtlessly from your mouth, the more
comfortable they’ll feel agreeing with your
policies. Then, the more likely they
will be to listen to what you say, and maybe even to vote for you.

I offer you this excellent advice because, even if I did find myself agreeing
with some of the things you say, I can not—honestly—imagine voting for you
because of some of the things you say.

One time many years ago, while weeding Mama Anastassio's garden, I
inadvertently tore out all of her oregano. And, let me tell you, Mama was not
pleased. While I stood there in front of her she shouted at me, calling me a
long list of foul names in Italian. It was the wrong approach for getting
anything more out of me. Of course Mama was furious at the time, and she
wasn't running for President.

sincerely,

Darryl Mockridge
