TWO EFFECTIVE SLEEP INDUCEMENT TECHNIQUES

SLEEP INDUCEMENT TECHNIQUES in general
Each of these techniques takes a slightly different approach
toward attaining the same goal… persuading your mind to
enter an interim state whereby you find yourself on the path
to sleep.
You will greatly increase the effectiveness of these
techniques if, BEFORE climbing into bed, you take a
moment to stretch your arms, your legs, your neck, extend
your fingers.
AFTER you get into bed, consciously relax. Close your eyes,
slacken your jaw, allow your hands to take whatever shape
they will. In brief, get as comfortable as you possibly can.
YOUR WEAKER EYE
Each of us has one eye which is weaker than the other. It is
as if one eye carries the majority of the visual load and the
other (the dominant eye) is there merely to lend a hand. To
determine which eye is weaker simply close your eyes and,
first with one eye, describe a figure eight. Then, with the
other eye, describe a figure eight. Most likely, one eye will
perform that task quickly and easily, while the other will go
through the pattern with discernible effort.
These techniques work most effectively when you
consciously employ your weak eye as much as possible.
They are not dependent on this however. If your eyes are
equal in every way, these techniques will still work for you.
THIRTY EIGHT (The Easy Method)
Close your eyes. Using only your weak eye, carefully trace the
number 3 from top to bottom. This is a three step process. Note
the starting point at the top of the 3. Follow the curve
downward, and note the center point. Follow the curve
downward further, and note the final point.
Trace the figure slowly, methodically, consciously noting each of
those three points.
Now, using your dominant eye, trace the number 8 in one
smooth continuous motion, from beginning to end.
With your weaker eye, slowly trace the number 3 again, being
careful to note each of the three points of that figure.
Then, with the other eye, once again trace the number 8 in one
smooth continuous motion.
Each time you do this, try to perfect the shape of each number.
Continue this process and you will fall asleep
SPELLING
Close your eyes. From the alphabet select any two letters.
Now, with your weaker eye envision any object or word that begins
with the first letter. Picture that object or word.
Now, with your dominant eye picture any word or object that begins
with the second letter.
Continue this process, alternating from one eye to the other, and
alternating between letters.
Note: It may be more effective to vary things as much as you can,
however, if you repeat yourself—if for example A is for ‘apple’
several times in a row—this technique will still work.
Either way, when you get to the stage where you find yourself
thinking: “A is for Duck,” or “C is for tomorrow's menu... you're on
your way.
